What
is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind, one which you automatically drift in and out of many times throughout the day; it's whenever you're physically relaxed yet your mind is effortlessly focused i.e. whenever you're engrossed in a film or a book, or whenever you've driven home and forgotten about the last few miles you've just driven - during these times you didn't fall asleep or lose control, did you? This is what hypnosis feels like; it's a myth that hypnosis is a mind control thing that can be used to get you to do things against your will. If it was really was a mind control thing, why would hypnotists even bother working for a living? What is 'Pure Hypnoanalysis', what makes it different and more effective from the other therapies you may have tried? If you have tried other therapies then you have probably been taught various coping, relaxation or distraction techniques. Now, the problem is that all of these techniques may be well-meaning and reasonably good at attempting to help you ‘cope’, (albeit for a while), with whatever it is you 'think' is wrong with you. Now, have you ever wondered, what exactly is the ‘it’ that I am trying to cope with? The ‘it’ is simply your ‘bottled up’ negative emotions! Let's cut to the chase, and take a look at depression for an example:- Depression isn't a long dark tunnel or a huge black cloud, it's not even some sort of disease that you went out and caught one day. People ‘feel’ depressed because they feel stressed and anxious which causes them to feel 'bad' and, after feeling like this for a prolonged period, is it any wonder that life begins to feel like an uphill struggle? One of the reasons as to why you feel this way is simply because you have been brought up to believe that you should ‘keep a stiff upper lip’ and you shouldn’t talk about your feelings, especially the ‘upsetting’ ones. How many times have you said ‘what’s the point in complaining, no one’s listening?’ So you were taught to ‘bottle up’ your feelings and believe rubbish such as ‘out of sight, out of mind’ and ‘time is a healer.’ Well, it’s time to wake up! Because...time heals nothing! Acknowledgment and release of your hurt and pain allows the healing process to begin. Just think about anytime you have grieved or experienced a ‘loss’; it wasn’t time that healed, this difficult time was healed by the outpouring of your emotions. We have all experienced periods when we have felt fed up, miserable or sad and when these periods come along most people can usually ‘deal’ with them by seeking counsel with family and friends. This, thankfully, means that these periods are brief and we can quickly get on with the business of living again. But, what if you have never ever known how to deal with your feelings properly and these feelings, like all the others you have 'bottled up' over the years, don't go away. Well, the only thing that can happen is that, at some point, you will buckle under all this stress and then it will begin to interfere with your everyday life. Hopefully, you can now see that depression, just like phobias, sexual problems, weight issues, addictions etc is just a symptom, a sign/signal that 'something' is wrong and is making you feel 'bad'. Now you don't have to be a rocket scientist to catch on to the fact that something or some incidents must have caused this, believe me you didn't wake up one morning and decide to feel the way you do. As I have already mentioned, these 'bad' feelings are simply due to your 'bottled-up' negative emotions, meaning that whatever has happened to you caused you great distress at the time and, because at the time you either felt that you couldn't, or you were just too immature to, you were unable to release those emotions. So you did the only thing you could do…you 'bottled' them up, which is understandable because you had to get on with life. This led you to 'believe' that you had dealt with them, treating them as if they had never occurred (out of sight, out of mind). However, there is a catch…every time something puts you under pressure or stress, or you're experiencing life changes (remember the only thing that is constant in this world is change) these 'bottled-up' emotions are given an outlet or triggered, making whatever is presently stressing you out seem a whole lot worse. This means, the things that you feel you should be handling right now (i.e. life), you aren't handling at all well and you’re making a drama out of every crisis, or developing physical and emotional problems, or turning to various other destructive behaviours in an effort to self-medicate. I.A.P.H. therapists, like myself, are specially trained to use 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' in order to sort your problems out completely, once and for all! No, we don't attempt to equip you with more coping techniques or teach you how to manage your symptoms better so you will 'hopefully' get by for a while. We simply help you to find and release the cause of your problems…your 'bottled up' emotions. Once this happens, then your problems/symptoms will disappear and, not only this, the way that you were left feeling about yourself…guilty, worthless, stupid, bad, judged etc because of what happened will also change forever. When this happens, all the feelings that have held you back in life, all the things you’ve tried to keep control over, all those little nagging fears and doubts you have about yourself will also no longer have a grip on your life. You will finally feel able and worthy to be the person you have always wanted to be. What I am offering you is a complete and lasting resolution and not merely control of your symptoms through the use of dieting, anti-depressants, herbal remedies, alcohol, drugs etc which actually is the hamster wheel you are now on! In this day and age there is no reason why you should put up with something 'inside yourself, but outside of your control', that's provided you can devote time, effort and the self-discipline it takes to be finally free from your problems once and for all. The use of 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' dramatically 'speeds' therapy up, and you will achieve similar results in just a few weeks (usually 6 to 9 weekly sessions) as would be expected from the more conventional '1000 hour' Analysis. What is Suggestion Therapy (commonly known as Hypnotherapy)? Suggestion Therapy has many uses but unlike 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' it doesn't offer a complete and lasting resolution to your symptoms, in fact, the best that it can offer is temporary relief from your symptoms - a bit like alcohol, drugs, food etc. This is why I refer to it as 'sticking plaster' therapy and, like all sticking plasters, it cannot last forever. If you have already consulted other hypnotherapists before now, then chances are Suggestion Therapy is what you were given. Suggestion Therapy is ideally suited to and very effective for simple problems; and of course, for when the individual doesn't have enough time to complete a course of 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' and needs the 'quick fix' which will give them the confidence and calmness to, for example, get on that plane, or pass that driving test, or get through that job interview. Now, because Suggestion Therapy usually has immediate and often seemingly miraculous results, for this reason it is the method that is used when you see hypnotherapy programmes on the TV. But these programmes very rarely do follow ups and, if they did, they would find a return of the symptoms, maybe not as severe but returned all the same. Or they would find a completely new symptom altogether because the first symptom has been substituted for a new one. I have used 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' to deal with countless cases such as this. Will I lose control? There is absolutely no question of being controlled or manipulated and it's not a form of mind control as the stage hypnotists would have you believe. If this was really the case what would stop a hypnotherapist walking into a bank, clicking his or her fingers everywhere, and cleaning the place out (apart from integrity of course). So this proves that you cannot be made to do anything against your will or code of ethics. Will I remember what happened? Yes, you will remember everything that happens during the sessions remember you don't lose control at any time. Can anyone NOT be hypnotised? Yes - the mentally challenged and anyone who chooses not to be, remember it's not a mind control thing. Please
